Factors affecting curricular viability are numerous acting at each step of curriculum development, implementation, and learning. This literature review maps the usual and the unusual inhibitors of curricular viability. The inhibitors generally known to the medical teachers are not easily found in the literature straight away. These are mostly implicitly reported in reports on curricular reforms in various countries or research done on any one aspect of curriculum development or implementation. This literature review is thematically (10 questions for curriculum development) arranged, and results are combined and synthesized after gathering evidence from various sources.
